Planting???

Very nice day, sun is shining, the birds are singing...lol opps slept in this morning til 8:30ish, this is late for me, I don't want to miss any time, want to do everything.... I went to sewing table and did few more blocks for the topsy turvy quilt... then I tidied up. I had to go pluck out the dandelions, boy, there are sure a lot more this year than any other years, all the lawns have them... what a job to try to keep up...I then decided to plant a few veggies, umm thought I wouldn't but, looked bare, soooooo I did it... only few. I also dug up a few perennial that friends shared with me...can't take them all but little bits and pieces of some... OK Denise, I can just hear you LOL.... only a few ok.........not many lol...... here's a few pics, I even had son till the garden, then he washed the white truck...umm he must be very bored.....

Saturday Hangout

Well, had a busy day yesterday, didn't know if I was coming or going??? Today was a quilt day with ladies in our quilt group (Mystery Country Quilters) It was a fun day , quilting, sharing ideas and viewing magazines, and of course some great munchy stuff to nibble on... Thank you ladies for a wonderful , relaxing day for me and also was my last one here in Thompson. I will miss them all.......but we will keep in touch by blogging and e-mailing etc...I worked on this pattern that I previously posted, got few done lol ,, did a lot of visiting and chatting , great day...

here are some pictures..... oh, Jan is missing, that's sad for us, but she was at the big Canadian Quilt Show... all the way out east(Newfoundland) ....we'll have to check with her whent she gets back for her great trip. Also Kathleen is missing, she's down south...

It was pretty dull and grey out most of the day today, then this afternoon the wind pick up. Though we were going to loose the patio chairs, wow . The BBQ cover blew off, that's windy LOL.... Kids were kids, running around etc...should have known that it would rain...hehe.... Went to my fit-ball class tonight , boohoo, sad ,,, this was the last one for the summer and they start up again in September but,,,,,well,,,, were moving to Ontario, so my last one here.... that was weird... had a great super duper workout though, Thanks a whole lot and more to Denise, she rocks.........Came home and had to tidy up, need to keep house very clean....house is showing tomorrow night....ummm we'll see, maybe more on the weekend..Oh, too few pics this am of some Lady Slippers (or moccasins).... and I just had to start another quilt HEHE..can't put that away, have to start something that I can do by hand , so I can put stuff away (umm that's hard for me) .... anyhoot Ciao , salut, bonsoir, adios, good evening til tomorrow........

Ok, too good. This weather was again beautiful... at +24c can't complain, or maybe hehe... Little guys were, well, a little antsy Pansie today, maybe due to heat LOL or maybe this gal didn't get enough sleep, toss and turn umm shouldn't have had a coffee late last night... Have some early bloomers (little flowers) out their, too few pictures.......Should have went for walk but evening went buy too quickly, cleaned up so I can have Saturday off, this will be the last Saturday quilt group get together for the summer and my last one for this Group. I will join another group back in Ontario after we move, need to keep busy quilting, get inspired and wow every quilt I see. LOL... Addicted I am said I....... Well not on here long , eyes are burning (lack of sleep) no coffee for this gal tonight, water only....LOL sooo Bonsoir and Good Evening...til tomorrow.

Well, we have heat, it's been pretty nice, temperature was 21C for the past week , but evening it goes down to almost freezing (frost calling for tonight) I think that maybe we are getting spoiled,,but too dry, there's a few bad fires a little south-west (Sherriton, Waasagomach, Grand Rapids) the one in around Grand Rapids (manitoba) are bad enough that they keep closing the main highway (#6),,,, some people have taken pictures of this and few have had their paint on the vehicle bubble..... SOOOOO need rain soon or well you can guesss... Anyhoot, today was same old same old, the boys were here and same routine,,,k need to change it....LOL ....Just asking myself a question when I've been on other quilter's blogs, they seem to have 1 quilt a day they've made and pics of them...ummm do they quilt all day and quilt all nite???????? don't get me wrong,, but wow their awesome, but I'm trying to figure out all this...????? any ideas or maybes or ????????

Beautiful day once again, boys were boys'. Went out to play after while oldest DJ fell and scrapped his elbow, poor guy. First time. He's the type of little one that he can't get dirty, and don't take pain very well... sooo needless to say, he bald and bald,,,went inside but the other little guy wasn't too pleased that he had to come in, sooooo he bald, and bald,,, wow is all I can say,,, I'm sure our all our neighbors heard. HEHE..... All was well though after a little time, patched DJ up and then Chase , well he got distracted and was fine..funny how they get distracted so easily when their small...After mom picked up the boys, I went for a nice walk with a few ladies, good evening to go , feel great....I also finished the Flip Flop quilt top, but not sure about the choice of yellow for the last little border....I'll have to get some opinions, I think should have put a little darker yellow?????? HELP....But the rest looks sooooo cute.....(pat , pat) had to do that LOL.....Ciao ..

Building it

Well, good day today, weather wasn't too bad, little windy again, got woken up by a call for my son. His friend Dano called to invite him to go fishing, go figure, another early day off, oh well sais la vie... it was ok because I ended up doing little more than I would have if I would have slept in til 8am ......worked on my flip flop quilt blocks (border), Denise, her mom (Donna) and I went for a lovely walk , was a little chili at first but into the millennium trail (in woods) it was great and warm....thanks Denise and Donna, good friends...Scooted down to Wally world for a few items then cooked supper and back to the sewing area. Now winding down for early bed to be refreshed in am for the grandsons'....below are few pictures and tips. Enjoy the rest of evening and CIAO, Bonsoir and goodnight......

add a little buddy fabric
if you start with a little piece of fabric (buddy) your starting stitches will be straight and it wont jam in, where your needle is into the feed-dog area ....(I hope this makes sense)
...squaring your block.....
when squaring your block, don't whack only one side. Make it even by taking little on top and
side, turn your block and do same on the top and side, I usually try to line up the line from my ruler to match up on the stitching line.....
